BUILT FOR PERFORMANCE

Developed out of a collaboration between General Motors and Isuzu, the Duramax LB7 is a first-generation diesel engine and the first to bear the name “Duramax.” It was designed to fit the HD range of GM pickup trucks, including the Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD. Introduced in 2001, it saw production until its replacement with the LLY Duramax in 2004. Overall, it’s known as a reliable and strong diesel engine, which is why so many owners are willing to take the time to take care of them.
