SPE Motorsport built this intake for 6.7 Powerstroke trucks that make more than stock power. Through dyno, street and race testing SPE found that open filter designs outflow sealed boxes, especially at low vehicle speed where a boxed filter starves for air. So the whole kit is designed around flow: one of the largest intake tube volumes available for the 6.7, no MAF inserts necking the tube back down to factory size, and a 6 inch filter inlet with a smooth transition to the factory oval flange.
Every mounting point is molded into the tube, so there are no metal brackets to flex, rust or break, and install is simpler. The filter is SPE's own mold for this application, not a one size fits all part. It uses layered non woven cotton media that can run dry for maximum flow or oiled for extra filtration.
