    Over the years, some common issues with the 6R140 transmission include valve body malfunction, torque converter issues, and lack of proper maintenance. Regular servicing at 75,000-mile intervals can mitigate these issues. In case of a harsh 2-3, 5-6 upshift or downshift, customers should first check the fluid/filter. If no debris is found, they should replace the valve body with an OEM Ford valve body. Regular servicing as recommended will significantly reduce any issues.
