6.7 Powerstroke intake manifold

6.7 Powerstroke Intake Manifold Upgrade: Pusher Powerflow vs SPE OE+

Most people start with an intake filter. On a 6.7 Powerstroke, the part actually choking airflow sits right on top of the engine: the factory intake manifold. The good news is you can fix it without a tune and without touching the factory emissions equipment.

What Is Wrong With the Factory Intake Manifold

Pusher sums it up well. On the stock manifold, air comes through the throttle valve and runs straight into the EGR boss, then into a solid wall, and gets forced into a spiral before it ever reaches the heads. Both bank feeds come out of that mess.

That restriction costs you spool up, power and EGT control, and the EGR flow path loads the manifold and the MAP sensor with soot over time.

Pusher Powerflow Intake Manifold and Turbo Inlet

The Pusher Powerflow package redesigns the manifold around the airflow instead of around the cheapest casting.

  • 66 percent more airflow through the manifold, according to Pusher, by bringing EGR into the air stream at an angle and removing the wall entirely
  • Turbo inlet with 15 percent more airflow than stock, keeping the factory mounting points and CCV plumbing
  • Provisions for the factory emissions equipment
  • No tuning required. Bolt on and go.
  • Mandrel bent steel, CNC machined sensor ports and flanges, fully TIG welded

Why the turbo inlet? On 2015 and newer trucks, the factory turbo inlet is built into the intake manifold. Replace the manifold and you need a new inlet too, so Pusher sells them as a package.

SPE Motorsport OE+ Performance Intake Manifold

The SPE OE+ Performance Intake Manifold Kit takes a different approach: build the manifold the way Ford would if cost was not a factor.

  • Factory replacement that retains all the other factory components, no tuning required
  • Up to 30 wheel horsepower in SPE's testing, and SPE reports engines making boost at idle
  • Optimized EGR dispersion for fewer EGR deposits inside the engine
  • MAP sensor moved out of the EGR flow path so it stays clean
  • A356 aluminum, heat treated to T6, raw finish
  • Rotomolded lower air intake that connects to the factory airbox
  • Fits 2011 to 2026 trucks

Which One Fits Your Truck?

  • 2011 to 2014: the SPE OE+ covers your years.
  • 2015 to 2026 and you want the inlet done too: Pusher Powerflow. Inlet and manifold, one box.
  • 2015 and newer on a tighter budget, factory airbox staying: SPE OE+.
  • 2025 and 2026: both Pusher and SPE list coverage through 2026. Send us your VIN to confirm.

Going Off Road or Racing?

For trucks that do not have to stay street legal, Pusher's race parts go further: the Pusher Race Intake Manifold and Turbo Inlet for 2015 to 2016 and the full Pusher intake systems. Pusher lists these as off road only.

FAQ

Do I need a tune for a 6.7 Powerstroke intake manifold?

No. Both the Pusher Powerflow package and the SPE OE+ manifold are designed to run on the factory calibration.

Why does a 2015 and newer 6.7 Powerstroke need a new turbo inlet with a manifold?

On 2015 and newer trucks the factory turbo inlet is integrated into the intake manifold, so replacing the manifold means replacing the inlet too. The Pusher Powerflow package includes both.

Does an aftermarket intake manifold keep the EGR system?

The Pusher Powerflow keeps provisions for the factory emissions equipment, and the SPE OE+ retains all other factory components. Pusher race manifolds are off road only.

How much power does a 6.7 Powerstroke intake manifold add?

SPE reports up to 30 wheel horsepower in its testing with the OE+ manifold. Results depend on the truck, tune and turbo.
