For about eight years Tru did the machine work behind every Powerhouse Diesel engine and head job, and they never let us down. In September 2026 Tru officially became part of the Powerhouse family.
Tru keeps its name, its crew in Randy, Matt and Kody, and the quality local shops already trust. What changed is what we can offer you: new casting cylinder heads with no core charge, built short blocks, published pricing, and a courier that picks up and drops off at your door.

New diesel cylinder heads, built better than factory
Every head we sell starts as a brand new casting that has never been installed or heat cycled, then goes through our Full Works process: crack checked and pressure tested, seats and guides cut true to our spec, new valve seals, a complete valve job with every valve lapped, and the deck surfaced flat for a gasket that seals the first time. O ringing is available on every platform for trucks running a tune, towing heavy or making real boost. No core charge on any head.

Gas engine machine work
Tru is not diesel only. We machine gas engine heads and blocks too, from the small block in a weekend project to the work truck that has to start every morning. Valve jobs, surfacing, boring, honing and more. Call 865.548.8520 for a quote.
Short blocks built in house
Because the machines are ours, so are the engines. Every Powerhouse short block is Magnafluxed, pressure tested, line honed and bored as required, decked flat and torque plate honed, then assembled with the full gasket package in the box. See the lineup in our short block buyer guide.
Pickup and Delivery for Local Shops
You should not have to pull a tech off the floor to haul parts across the county. Our courier picks up cores and parts at your shop and delivers finished work back. Rates are per trip, each way:
- Jefferson City, Dandridge, New Market: $15 per head or part, $30 for an engine, transmission or multiple parts
- Morristown, White Pine: $20 / $35
- Newport, East Knoxville, Kodak, Strawberry Plains: $25 / $40
- Knoxville, Seymour, Sevierville: $35 / $45
- West Knoxville, Farragut, Halls, Greeneville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Maryville, Alcoa: $40 / $50
- Clinton, Lenoir City, Oak Ridge: $45 / $55
Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and the Maryville area are city limits only. Short block orders deliver free in every zone. Pickup at either shop is always free. Outside these areas, freight is quoted per order.

Are your cylinder heads new?
Yes. Every head we sell is a brand new casting that has never been installed or heat cycled, with no core to send back and no core charge.
Do you ship outside Tennessee?
Yes. Heads and short blocks ship nationwide, with freight quoted per order.
Do you O ring heads?
Yes, on every diesel platform we list. O ringing adds a machined receiver groove and stainless wire that locks the head gasket in place under high cylinder pressure.
Do you work on gas engines?
Yes. Call for a quote on gas heads and blocks.
